Making Different Colours- Tech

At Tech my classmates and I had the chance to paint. It was a very simple exercise but was fun to do. Our three main colours were red, yellow and blue, also secondary colours that we had to mix together.

 Later on we had to practice painting a gradient with a single colour. There are various colour combinations that can be made. Red and blue makes purple, yellow and blue makes green etc.

Our task was entertaining, was not boring at all. It was very funny how one of my classmates drew an artist with the paint, that was funny!

Compare & Contrast: Tech

On Wednesday at Tamaki College the students in graphics class had to develop and complete a worksheet.

We had to figure out the differences and similarities between two types of clocks. Examining these two clocks shown was our main task, also including how it's used, the size of the clock, how much the two clocks cost, where the clock is used and etc.

It was really funny during tech. I could tell my classmates enjoyed themselves and were having fun. I thought I did good on this project but not as well as Riiana. Her work is always the best!

Designs For My Clock

Last week at tech my task was to draw different designs for my clock. I could do any design I wanted, but I couldn't copy from the internet. On a piece of paper I had to draw my four ideas. It had to be special. It couldn't just be a normal coloured clock. If the shape of the clock wasn't different, then the face of the clock had to be.

One of my designs was shaped like a sun and was coloured in red, orange and yellow. One of my other designs had Roman numerals, instead of the Arabic numerals. Around the numbers on my clock I coloured it in a nice light blue.

Clocks - Design Brief

During Wednesday's lesson I had to create a google drawing. I had to insert different styles of clocks like an analogue, digital, hour glass, hanging clock and more.

What I learnt in this lesson was a new way of telling the time. That way is through looking at a sun dial. The sun dial tells you what time of day it is by the location of the sun's shadow.

After this technology lesson I am now very excited and can't wait until the next lesson comes around.

3D Oblique Sketching

At Tamaki College I learnt how to 3D sketch and I also learnt how to shade a cube. I had to draw other shapes as well like a pyramid and a cylinder.

Another thing I learnt was how to create three different tones, light, medium and dark. We also had to master shading a shadow to make it look more realistic.

Duffy Stuck In A Video Game!

On Monday we had some memorable visitors who came to perform at Ruapotaka School. Every time they come they produce a phenomenal  performance that is very humorous. This weeks performance was about Duffy having an argument with his cousin, Sam, about which is better, reading or video games. When Duffy wore Nana's magical glasses and did her amusing dance, he gets sucked into a video game called ''Magic Bricks.'' The concept of the game is to finish building your tower before the Dismantler destroys it.
