Waiho Bridge Washed Away Caused To Heavy Rain

Westland is struggling with extreme weather that caused the Waiho Bridge to be completely destroyed from the heavy rain. The heavy rain has caused rivers to rise and evacuation warnings have been sent throughout the area.

Some schools have been closed and extreme winds up to 120 km have surfaced. The town of Haast is encountering a one in 100 year flood. As a result of this weather, the main road from south of town to Hokitika has been closed. Unfortunately there have been reports that this dreadful weather will only continue.

I think this is a tragedy and I hope that this bad weather will stop in two weeks or so.
