Even though teachers want a 16 percent increase in money, it's more about not having enough staff members. The government has offered a 3 percent pay rise over the next three years. Teachers are not 100 percent about this transaction and want more.

A Flock Of Earthquakes Zap White Island
Around 200 earthquakes have hit White Island, one of New Zealand's most active volcanoes. There are some speculations that this volcano could erupt or increase the chances of landslides happening.
I hope that this volcano doesn't erupt anytime soon. This could be a huge impact on the community leaving people in disbelief as a result of the last happening in 2001.

Interschool Soccer At Point England
On Wednesday my team mates and I went to the Inter-school soccer competition. My team mates were, Mary-Ruth, Madisyn, Joanalisi, Kate, Liza, Jessica, Leanah, Limiteti, Storm and Winnie. This competition was held at Point England Reserve. We had six games, we tied three and lost three.
We had a year five and six team that I am very proud of. I'm also extremely proud of my team mates and how well they played.
The first school we were up against was Panmure District. They were a really good team to go up against and were tough competitors.

Kiwican Wk 1 T2
Recently, students at Ruapotaka School met two of Kiwi-can's craftspeople Miss Tuia and Mrs Mac.
We talked about the meaning of integrity, which was our theme this term. My classmates said that integrity was giving it a go and having enough courage to do something.
We played three fun games, BANG, Changes and GKQ. During BANG Miss Tuia was leading and didn't remember our names, I was next to her and she asked for my help.
Changes was a another game that we played if you have done something, or been there, you have to move to a different place. GKQ stands for general Knowledge questions and was the game.
I really loved playing all these games and I could tell my classmates enjoyed as well. Especially from the looks on their faces!
